Imagine a hearty, comforting dish where rich, savory flavors come together in a single pan: baked beans with steak.
Picture this—tender chunks of seared steak, juicy and caramelized on the outside, nestled into a bed of slow-cooked baked beans.
Start with some onions, red pepper, cherry tomatoes and chilli flakes frying in a bit of oil
Cut your steak into bite size cubes. Here I have a piece of New York strip loin but any tender grilling steak will be great.
Turn up the heat under the pan and add the steak, being careful not to burn the onions.
I like to see a bit of charring on the meat.
Turn down the heat and add the beans.
Let simmer to heat the beans
It’s rustic, filling, and made to be scooped onto a plate alongside crusty bread. Take it to the dock and watch the seagulls.
